Naming my Business
Back in the early days of COVID, I was finishing my nurse coach training while working in hospice nursing — something I had already been doing for about 11 years at that point. Every day, I was surrounded by grief and loss. People were mourning loved ones, but also grieving the lives they once knew before the world changed so drastically.
That experience really shaped the heart of what I wanted my business to be. I wanted to help people move through grief, reconnect with themselves, and rediscover what truly matters to them. When it came time to choose a name, I kept finding myself drawn to the lotus flower through my own journey toward a more Zen, grounded mindset.
What I love most about the lotus is that it literally starts in the mud. It pushes through dark, murky water before finally breaking through into the sunlight. During that time, it felt like the whole world was stuck in that mud — everything felt heavy, uncertain, and dark. But the lotus reminded me that even in those moments, growth and beauty are still possible. Little by little, petal by petal, we heal and learn to trust life again.
And the “lion” part? Well, I’m a Leo, and I remember thinking to myself, it takes the strength of a lion to grow something beautiful out of mud and murky water. That thought stayed with me, and the name just felt right.
